Purley John Fisher look well-placed to survive in London Two South East after thumping Bromley 40-19 at the Pightle on Saturday, writes Martin Bruck.
A sprightly start was rewarded with two Dom Brown penalties, while Bromley were unable to make the most of two opportunities of their own.
A sweeping move set Tom Casey free to open PJF’s try tally his wing partner Mike Cartilage also crossed the line as PJF took a 16-0 half-time lead.
The secret of Purley’s first-half success was good first phase possession with jumpers Steve Brown and Neil Leather securing plenty of good ball.
This continued in the second half and a flowing move through the backs allowed Cartilage to cross for his second try.
Bromley started to shore up their defence and scored a try from a take-and-drive at the line-out.
PJF’s retaliation was swift and hard - three tries all from attacks from within their own half.
Casey, Sia and Knight all broke the gain line and offloaded to eventual scorers Derry Coughlan and Tom Leather.
A try was also scored by the impressive open side flanker Phil Jones, a product of the connection with John Fisher School.
Brown rounded off the show with two conversions before Bromley managed two consolation scores of their own.
