Croydon in need of last-day win
11:07am Thursday 12th April 2012 in Other Rugby By Graham Moody, Sports Reporter
Croydon go into the final game of their Surrey One season this Saturday still in danger of relegation.
Last weekend’s 27-13 defeat at Kingston left them third bottom, trailing Old Wimbledonians on points difference.
Their saving grace could be the fact they go to bottom club Old Walcountians on Saturday – who are already relegated.
Mid-table Old Whitgiftians end their season at leaders London Exiles.
Surrey Three champions Streatham-Croydon will hope they can finish the season unbeaten on Saturday.
They go to second-placed Old Tonbridgians knowing a win will give them 15 victories and one draw from 16 games this season.
London South West division three outfit Purley John Fisher need a win over second-placed KCS Old Boys at Limpsfield Road to certain.
Defeat, and victory for Weybridge Vandals at leaders Old Alleynians, will condemn them to a successive relegation.
Croydon’s other teams go into the final weekend all already knowing their fate.
Old Mid-Whitgiftian have long been relegation in London Two South East and host East Grinstead on Saturday.
Mid-table Warlingham go to promotion-chasing Charlton Park safe in the knowledge they will be finishing seventh no matter the result.
In Surrey Two, Chipstead travel to Old Emanuel.
