London Scottish head coach Simon Amor is confident his side can avoid the Championship chop after a 26-20 defeat at Moseley on Saturday.
The losing bonus point means the Exiles need just a point from the final game of the season - when fellow strugglers Esher visit the Athletic Ground this Saturday - to be certain of survival.
Esher beat Plymouth Albion 42-17 to set up the final day decider and Amor, whose side won 20-16 when the two teams met at the beginning of the championship relegation play-offs, insisted home
advantage would be crucial. "We know they're a dangerous side and will be on a roll after their win," he said after the defeat in Birmingham.
"We'll still be confident because we know we're a good team and we're playing at home, which is our big strength."
A brace from Worcester Warriors loan star Charlie Hayter and ten points from Dan Mugford's boot accounted for Scottish's points on Saturday.
Meanwhile, a London Scottish squad reached the quarter-finals of the Melrose Sevens on Saturday in the club's first visit to the event in 22 years.
