Harlequins director of rugby Conor O'Shea has backed new signing Ben Botica to make a massive impact on his arrival at the Stoop next season.
The 22-year-old, son of former All Black and Wigan Warriors rugby league great Frano Botica, has penned a two-year deal with the Aviva Premiership leaders starting in July.
North Harbour star Botica, who agreed the move in October but only confirmed the switch today, has spent this season playing in France after missing out on selection for the Auckland Blues Super 15 squad.
And O'Shea expects the former New Zealand schoolboy international centre and fly half to adapt to life at the Stoop in an instant. “We rate Ben very highly and are confident that he will have an instant impact at the club," he said.
"His positional versatility is attractive and the fact that he is a reliable goal kicker is a bonus.
"We are associated with a certain style of attacking rugby and our recruitment of Ben is specifically related to our ability to play that style.”
