Leatherhead Swimming Club’s Jamie Wilks has qualified for the National Age Group Swimming Championships in Sheffield in July.
The 12-year-old comfortably achieved the qualifying times at the Bracknell and Wokingham meeting for the 100m and 200m butterfly events last weekend – with his 200m time a new club record.
Leatherhead won 12 medals in total, with Cameron Doig, 14, and Lauren Parsons, 19, both taking home gold and silver medals.
Elsewhere, 14-year-old Laura Bullimore won four golds at the Woking Swimming Meet and Elizabeth Plumb, 13, three.
“There were some great results for the club and having Jamie qualify for the National Age Group Championships shows the direction the club is going,” said head coach David Vine.
