Lee Cannon will take centre stage this Friday when the popular welterweight gets his first taste of national exposure.

The 26-year-old estate agent’s thrilling Queensbury Welterweight title showdown with Warlingham’s Tom Knight will feature as the co main event on one of the countries biggest sports channels, Eurosport, this Friday night at 10pm.

He will be just one of thousands who will be tuning in to see what was undoubtedly the fight of the night on the big Queensbury Boxing League promotion.

In a pulsating encounter, that went the full championship distance, it was Cannon that narrowly missed out on claiming the crown by a razor thin majority decision, but with many at ringside believing the Mitcham man had done enough to secure his first title Cannon say’s he is looking forward to watching it back for himself to see just how close the fight actually was.

“If I’m honest, I really thought I had done enough to win the title and I was sure it was going to be my hand raised when they were announcing the result,” commented Cannon.

“It was a great fight and Tom was very tough but I was the aggressor throughout the fight coming forward the whole time and when the final bell rang out both myself and my coaches thought I had taken the title.

“I’m just looking forward to seeing the fight now and after that performance I think I’ve proved that I’m championship level and my focus now is to secure a rematch with Knight for September and this time make sure I come out on top.”

To see Cannon in action tune in to British Eurosport on Friday evening at 10pm which is available to Sky Sports customer on channel 410 and also to Virgin Media customers on channel 521.
