Charlie Edwards got some idea of how next year’s Olympic Games Boxing event at ExCeL will look despite suffering a first round exit in London Boxing International Invitational last Thursday, writes Ziad Chaudry.
The 18-year-old light-flyweight GB Olympic hopeful was at the wrong end of a close 15-11 decision against Uzbekistan's Shakhobidin Zoirov.
But the Beddington Bruiser believes he can move on from this defeat and qualify for London 2012.
"I can move on from this, it is good experience," said Edwards, who won bronze at the European Amateur Championships in June.
"I will learn from that performance, learn from my mistakes and go on from there.
"I just need to make sure I train that little bit harder because I will always come back for more.
"It is not an Olympic qualifier, that’s in March, so I will need to make sure I go and do it there."
