Tadworth AC runners took part in Saturday’s Reigate Priory Relays, which attracted 54 teams from clubs from across southern England.

Running six legs of 2.5 miles each, the men’s team finished 11th in one hours, 36 minutes 30 seconds.

Paul O’Callaghan ran their fastest leg in 15:28 while other runners on a hilly and muddy circuit were Dave Williamson 15:47, Tim Wilkes 16:02, Pat Wright 16:13, Garry Edwards 16:20 and Peter Mills 16:40.

In the women’s race, over three legs, Tadworth finished 18th in 1:04.56. Hazel Imeson clocked 20:34, Mary Matthews 21:36 and Candice Siddle 22:46.

Dave Williamson was first home for Tadworth in Sunday’s Ronhill Surrey Classic 10k race on Nonsuch Park, finishing seventh of 203 runners in 36:01.

Other Tadworth times: 20 Garry Edwards 38:55, 31 Steve Hutton (1st M55) 40:01, 87 Roland Hogg 47:11.

Tadworth AC’s Geoff Newton won the men’s over-60 class in the Stevenage Half Marathon.

He was 39th out of 569 runners in one hour, 26 minutes, 15 seconds.
