Addiscombe finally sealed top spot and promotion from Surrey Championship division five with a seven-wicket win over bottom club Wallington on Saturday.

Having led the league for most of the summer, Addiscombe wobbled at the final hurdle, losing their two previous games before finally securing division four cricket next season in their final fixture.

It is the second consecutive season the club has been promoted following their success in the Fuller's County Cricket league last season.

Dale Cooper was the star of the show with the ball, taking six wickets, including the last four for just six runs, as Wallington posted just 156 all out.

Openers Jack Docherty and Ben Cox put on 68 before Docherty fell. Cox went on to make his half century as Addiscombe eased to victory and the championship in 28.5 overs.

In division one Purley lost to Brook and finish eighth, while already promoted Old Whitgiftians lost to Camberley in division two.

Relegated Old Midwhitgiftians ended the season on a high by beating Beddington but division three's bottom club Warlingham suffered another defeat, this time at the hands of Old Rutlishians.

Southern Railway & Kenley stay fourth in division four after beating Old Hamptonians.

In division five Croydon MO lost to Staines & Laleham and finish sixth, while Chipstead, Coulsdon & Walcountians beat Kingston and end the campaign in fourth.
