Selsdon Park Hotel and Golf Club, part of the upscale hotel and conference group Principal Hayley, is to host the annual Nigel Mansell UK Youth Golf Classic from Friday to Sunday.

Recently host to the Selsdon Park Masters 2008, part of the Ivobank PGA EuroPro Tour, the championship course was delighted to have been chosen to host this prestigious tournament which will be fronted by legendary racing ace Nigel Mansell, President of UK Youth, and attended by a multitude of teams from around the country.

Players from more than 20 teams will have the opportunity to perfect their swing and take part in a shot gun start Texas Scramble this Friday.

The competition will begin in earnest on Saturday and will continue through to Sunday, with all teams vying to win the Prince Michael Trophy.

Saturday evening will see the beautiful Selsdon Park Hotel host a glamorous black tie gala dinner in the presence of Princess George with top class entertainment from Bobby Davro and Duggie Brown.

The tournament will be raising money for the UK Youth charity - the leading national youth work charity supporting over 750,000 young people and helping them access better opportunities in life.

UK Youth has a network of over 40,000 volunteers and over 7000 projects across the country such as the Youth Achievement Awards, and sports, arts, volunteering, health, environmental and financial literacy programmes for young people.

Chris Baron, Director of Golf for Selsdon Park Hotel and Golf Club said: “We are delighted that Selsdon Park was chosen to host this year’s Nigel Mansell UK Youth Golf Classic.

“It is a prestigious event and as a mature parkland championship course designed to challenge players, we hope all the participants will enjoy the tournament and, that through their support, UK Youth can continue with their excellent work.”

"UK Youth is delighted to be working with Selsdon Park on this flagship event and we look forward to an excellent tournament.

"We are grateful to all the teams who participate thereby helping to raise significant funds for the charity's work with young people." commented John Bateman OBE, Chief Executive of UK Youth.
