Kenny Brown may have a 66 per cent losing record as Tooting & Mitcham manager, but he insists he is under no more pressure than when he started.

The former West Ham defender has lost eight of his 12 games in charge since taking over from Mark Beard in December - the latest a 2-0 defeat to bottom club Horsham, who hadn't won since August, on Saturday.

It leaves the Terrors five points from safety having played a game more and with an uphill battle to avoid relegation to Ryman Division One South.

But Brown is adamant his job is safe and that the pressure is the same as it was when he arrived at Imperial Fields.

"I am under no more pressure than when I came here," he said.

"I have got good backing from the club and I do want to let anyone down.

"I am not under pressure job wise but I put myself under pressure.

"When I talk about us not performing I include myself in that, I am not sitting above everyone else saying it is all their fault.

"When we do well we take the plaudits but I put that team out there on Saturday and take full responsibility.

"It is now my job to get those players up and running and make sure we keep the club in this league."

The Terrors were poor against Horsham and deserved defeat to make it one point from their last five games.

Luke Wanadio, Jack Giddens and Charlie Dove were all released by the club last week - while striker Javlon Campbell was given a debut in Sussex for what could possibly be the shortest Tooting & Mitcham career in history, he has since been released having played just 64 minutes.

"He was disappointing on Saturday and he will be the first to admit that so it is not something we will go ahead with," said Brown of Campbell.

"He is obviously a good player but he didn't look better than what we have got already and it was a bit of trial and error as we got him very last minute.

"But we do not have time for players to find their feet.

"They are being bought in on good money for this league to bring experience and quality to the team - if they don't do that you might as well have players from a level below.

"We have 11 games left and, by the time we play Met Police next Wednesday, we will have a couple of new additions and then we are looking at an 11-game season."
