Brentford manager Andy Scott confirmed he is interested in signing former Blackburn and West Ham defender Ian Pearce after he played an hour of last night's 3-0 friendly win at Staines Town.Pearce, without a club after being released by Fulham at the end of last season, was due to play 45 minutes at Wheatsheaf Lane in a bid to improve his fitness. But, in the event, Pearce lasted an hour in his first game in Brentford colours.Pearce started with Chelsea before a four-year spell with Blackburn, during which he won the Premiership in 1995.His longest stay was at West Ham, where he spent seven years between 1997 and 2004, making 142 appearances.Injury blighted his four-year stint with Fulham, but he still made 57 league appearances and, at the end of last season, was one of only six players to have appeared in every season of the Premiership since its inception in 1992.
Both of Brentford's goals came in the second half with trialist Mark Antonio, Craig Pead and Alan Connell on target.
