Kingston Royals Swimming Club youngster Joe Clark claimed a freestyle golden double at the Surrey County Championships over the weekend.
The 14-year-old, who also claimed a bronze in the boys’ 400m individual medley, won the 1,500m race on Saturday before beating teammate Theo Ross, 14, into second to claim 400m gold at the Surrey Sports Park 24 hours later.
Kate Boden, 12, won the girls’ 800m freestyle before winning bronze in the 400m individual medley and 400m freestyle, while Lily Anderson, 12, won 800m freestyle bronze.
There were also medals for Will Clark – 400m freestyle silver and 400m individual medley bronze – and 16-year-old Alex Panayides, who finished third in the girls’ 800m freestyle.
Kingston are second in the championship table and claimed a total of 12 medals at the championships, which resume with the 100m and 200m events at Guildford Spectrum on March 3 and 4.
