Alister Moses clinched victory at Banstead Woods parkrun on Saturday as 23 runners recorded new personal bests, writes Oliver Collis.
Reigate Priory’s Moses ran a commanding race to cross the line in 17 minutes, 11 seconds, beating fellow club-member Andrew Taylor, 17:52, into second.
Tadworth AC’s David Freeman finished third in 18:24 and topped the age-grading while Collingwood’s Robert Knight celebrated his 50th parkrun by coming home in sixth in 18:50 and knocking 27 seconds of his personal best.
South London Harrier Natalie Glover ran 19:47 to beat Collingwood’s Mary James, 20:14, in the women’s race as both runners secured their best ever times for the course.
Over at the Nonsuch Park event, Dorking & Mole Valley’s Bruce Harrold stormed to his fourth straight victory in a thrilling race.
Harrold surged to a new personal best of 17 minutes, 27 seconds to beat Kevin Armstrong into second by 10 seconds. Andrew Nippard secured third in 18:25.
Ashley Smith ran a personal best 21:13 to win the woman’s race while Sutton Runners’ Elinor Caborn, 21:38, came second.
