Sutton Rileys have kept their Epsom & District Snooker League championship-winning team together as they look to retain their title in 2008-09.
However skipper Bernie Canavan, Kevin Harey and Bill Dower are likely to face a stronger challenge from last year’s runners-up New Malden, for whom Grant Warner is teaming up with captain Paul Lawrence and Glenn Strange.
Coulsdon who finished third last season, have a new captain in the shape of Martin Wright, while Burgh Hill could be dark horses for the title under new skipper Dale Miles.
In Division One, newly promoted Surbiton Town are looking strong under the captaincy of captain Stuart White, but they are likely to be pushed all the way by Epsom Snooker Club and Banstead.
Divisions Two and Three look to close to call with teams from Epsom, Carshalton, Walton Heath, West Ewell, Cheam, Sutton, Worcester Park, Molesey, Raynes Park, Chessington, New Malden, Morden and Coulsdon all hopin for a good season.
The league also kicks off with a new chairman in the shape of Kevin Harey.
