New signing Nick Carle is hoping Neil Warnock’s formation can help him finally find the back of the net in England.
The Aussie midfielder turned plenty of heads last season with his impressive displays for Bristol City but failed to score in 20 appearances, a statistic he is determined to improve.
"I felt that I’d won my place in City’s midfield so it was a bit of a shock, but Neil really wanted me to sign and I knew there were some really talented players here."

“I was playing really well,” he said. “But I didn’t get on the score sheet and that’s a part of my game I feel can be improved.
“With Shaun Derry sitting deep the system here should suit me a bit more and there’ll be more chances to get forward.”
The 26-year-old admitted that he was surprised when Bristol City accepted an offer from Palace earlier in the summer but said it was an easy decision for him to leave.
“I felt that I’d won my place in City’s midfield so it was a bit of a shock,” he said. “But Neil really wanted me to sign and I knew there were some really talented players here.
“After he took over last season Palace had the best record in the league so this is a positive move for me.”
Carle now plans to settle in London after playing for various clubs in Australia, France and Turkey.
He recently found an apartment in the capital and he praised the Palace staff for helping him with the transition.
“The backroom staff and the players have made me feel really comfortable and the gaffer has been excellent.
“I’m learning a lot from him,” he added. “He’s made it clear what he wants from me and I just want to repay the faith he’s shown.”
