Hampton & Richmond Borough boss Alan Devonshire has ended speculation about his future by putting pen to paper on a two year extension to his current contract at the Beveree.
The former West Ham United legend had been linked with the Cambridge United job - now filled by Martin Ling - earlier in the summer having led his side to back-to-back Blue Square South play-off finals since winning the Ryman League Premier Division.
Devonshire has enjoyed unprecedented success with the Beavers since taking the reigns and has notched 144 wins from 243 games under his stewardship - fans have watched their side hit the back of the net on 467 occasions during that period.
And England international, who also has a racehorse named after him, is looking to continue in that vein.
“Obviously I’m delighted to sign a new contract, I’ve really enjoyed my time here so far and the success we have enjoyed,” he said.
“I’m looking forward to progressing the club over the next couple of years and taking us to even greater achievements.“ Chairman Steve McPherson, added: “Alan has overseen a period of success and growth for the club that has not been seen for decades.
“The relationship that he has with the players, the fans and the board is one of the strongest I have ever seen and his continued presence at the club can only lead to more success.”
