Hundreds of Ghana fans’ joy turn to devastation as they watched their team controversially crash out of the World Cup from the biggest Ghanaian bar in London.
Supporters packed out the Gold Coast bar and restaurant in South Norwood for Friday night’s match, which pitted the African nation against South American surprise package Uruguay.
Ghana looked certain to reach the semi-finals of the competition following a cynical handball on the line by Uruguayan forward Luis Suarez in the dying seconds of the match.
But Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan lifted the resulting penalty over the bar, before their South American opponents triumphed in a penalty shoot-out.
