Robin Shroot grabbed a last minute winner to keep AFC Wimbledon on course for a second-place finish in the Ryman Premier League on Saturday.
Chelmsford City clinched the title yesterday with a 1-1 home draw against Ramsgate to book their place in Blue Square South.
The Dons' hopes of securing second place - and home advantage through the play-offs - appeared to take a blow when Billy Bricknell gave Billericay Town an 18th minute lead at Kingsmeadow.
It wasn't until the second half that Dons hit back, Marcus Gayle levelling in the 63rd minute.
Then, with time running out, Shroot grabbed the winner to keep the Dons six points clear of third-placed Staines Town.
However Staines, who beat Folkestone Invicta 2-0 with goals from Howard Newton and Elliot Onochie, have three games in hand.
