Jamie Collins is prepared to expect the unexpected this weekend when Sutton United entertain Hayes & Yeading United at the Lane.

After back-to-back draws against Eastbourne Borough and Oxford City, United sit eighth in National League South, while Hayes are 16th.

United skipper Collins said: “Hayes & Yeading are one of those teams, who, on their day, can turn up and be one of the best teams in the league.

“Then you can play them the following week and beat them 3-0.

“It is a difficult one, but we will prepare as if we’re playing one of the top teams, and as long as our attitude is right, we’re confident of getting something out of the game.”

Boss Paul Doswell is sweating on the fitness of Kevin Amankwaah, who left the Oxford game with a groin problem, while Dan Spence is still unavailable because of injury, and Shaquille Hippolyte-Patrick remains on loan at Hampton & Richmond Borough.

However, defender Dean Beckwith returns after a family bereavement.
