Defeat is not an option for Leatherhead

Richard Brady has admitted a loss to Kingstonian on Saturday would spell doom for Leatherhead in their relegation dogfight, writes Thomas Anstey.
The Tanners slipped back in to the drop zone on Saturday after they lost 3-1 away at Canvey Island and Hastings United beat Harrow Borough.
It meant Hastings leapfrogged Leatherhead and joined Harrow on 44 points, three points ahead of Brady’s men.
Defeat to Ks at Fetcham Grove in the penultimate game of the season this weekend and a point for Harrow and Hastings in their games against two promotion-chasing teams, AFC Hornchurch and Lowestoft Town, would therefore guarantee an immediate return to Ryman Division One South.
“If we don’t win then it’s pretty much mission impossible or at least mission very difficult,” said Brady.
“It was a tricky week for us last week. The other two teams in the fight played each other and it’s gone against us when Hastings beat Harrow.
“Even a draw against Canvey would not have made a difference, only a win.
“We know Harrow and Hastings both have very tough games and it will be difficult for them to pick up points.
“Then in last game of any season, anything can happen.
“There’s nothing we can do about other results.”
There were doubts over the fitness of Tommy Hutchings after he was forced off at half time in the loss to Canvey Island but Brady expects him to be fit for Kingstonian.
“We didn’t do ourselves real justice and did stupid things, conceding straight from a corner and an own goal.
“It’s just a period of the season where you can’t do those things and shrug it off.”
