Staines Town 0 Bromley 2
Staines Town went down 2-0 in their mid-table Blue Square South clash with Bromley on Saturday.
The visitors were ahead after just 48 seconds after Warren McBean’s shot was saved by Louis Wells but fell invitingly for Harry Harding to sidefoot home.
It took Staines 20 minutes to have a decent opening but Bromley keeper Craig Holloway came off his line to make a save at Marc Charles-Smith’s feet.
Goalscorer Harding collected a yellow card after tumbling under Elliot Onochie’s challenge in the box but the referee ruled he had dived.
But Bromley continued to dominate in the closing stages of the first half, Henriques seeing a shot on the turn deflected just wide while Charlie Ide saw a shot saved by Wells. Finn crossed the ball back in but McBean headed against the post from two yards when it looked easier to score.
Staines went equally close two minutes after the restart when Orlu headed Andre Scarlett’s corner against the post.
Orlu then headed just wide and Charles-Smith and Onochie also went close as Staines dominated.
At the other end, Daly’s deflected shot tested Wells from distance while the keeper also saved from Ide from close range.
After 62 minutes, Scott Taylor clevelery played a pass through a defender’s legs for Charles-Smith to run onto, but Holloway spread himself to save.
Bromley made the game safe after 67 minutes. McBean threaded a ball forward for Harrison Dunk and he angled a shot beyond Wells’ reach from close in.
McBean almost made it three but his shot went too close to Wells.
