Corinthian Casuals boss Kim Harris may not have the money of some of his relegation rivals, but he would not have it any other way.

A 2-0 defeat at Ramsgate on Saturday left Casuals only two points above bottom-club Walton Casuals, despite a solid start to the campaign.

But Harris is convinced his team of youngsters – embellished with the experience of former Kingstonian stars Jason Turley, Bashiru Alimi and Jamie Byatt – can survive the drop.

“When you have money to spend and budgets you have to come up with results,” he said.

“I’m never surprised when managers lose their jobs at this level.

“It is fantastic working with the youngsters. At the weekend, our back four were all under the age of 21.

“Some have been offered money to go elsewhere, but they want to stay and play for us, which speaks volumes.

“These may be famous last words, but I’m sure we have enough to survive.

“We have got the usual crippling injury list and sometimes players are missing for various reasons, but relegation is not something that bothers me.”
