Corinthian Casuals boss Kim Harris says Kingstonian have landed a “proper player” in ex-Fulham striker Saheed Sankoh, writes Stuart Amos.
The 23-year-old forward quit King George’s Field for Kingsmeadow last week less than 12 months after lifting the Surrey Senior Cup with Harris’s men.
Sankoh, a former England U18 international, has starred for Casuals this term and returns to Ks having had spells at Kingsmeadow in 2007 and 2008.
And Harris, whose side lost to Walton & Hersham 2-0 in Ryman Division One South on Saturday, insisted he goes with his blessing.
“It is a massive loss for us. He was the best player in this league,” he said.
“I’ve got no problems with him going because he deserves to earn a little bit of money out of the game. It is going to be impossible for us to replace someone like him.
“When players like him drop out of the pro game they think it is going to be easy at our level, so he has had to learn to adapt.
“He has got fit and has been brilliant for us. He is a proper player and deserves a shot at a higher level.”
Harris, who will be without Kane Sergeant for another nine weeks, takes his side to Sittingbourne on Saturday.
