New boy Ryan Woods netted his first goal for the club as Kingstonian beat high flying Ryman Premier League title-chasing Lowestoft Town 2-0 at Kingsmeadow on Monday night.

The 23-year-old, signed from North American Soccer League side Minnesota Stars last week, gave his side a 30th minute lead, before second half substitute Bobby Traynor made the game safe in the 90th minute.

Wood and fellow new boy Saheed Sankoh, signed from Corinthian Casuals on Friday, both featured as Ks drew 0-0 at Cray Wanderers on Saturday.

Ks have now only lost one game in their last eight and manager Alan Dowson believes his men are reaping the rewards of their hard graft - singling out skipper Gary MacDonald and centre back partner Ian Gayle as the key difference in recent weeks.

"We've had two good results after slipping up against Concord and we deserved to win that game," he said.

"It shows that if you work hard you get you rewards and that is what we have done.

"Ryan came in on trial and looked very lively. He has done very well. His attitude has been spot and I'm very pleased for him.

"Saheed has come back to us a different player and a different man and that is all down to Kim Harris at Corinthian Casuals.

"But the real plus for us have been the two centre halves. Gary has been superb and Ianhas come in and is keeping Tom Hutchinson out of the side on his performances."
