Crystal Palace may have struggled for goals under Dougie Freedman but the Scot now believes he has found his most potent forward line.

The Eagles have scored only 64 goals in 62 games since Freedman took over from George Burley 14 months ago but smashed four past Watford on Saturday to record their best win since beating Burnley 5-0 on May 4, 2008.

For the third game running, Freedman named the same starting 11, with Chris Martin, Jermaine Easter, Wilfried Zaha and Darren Ambrose making up a front four that ripped the Hornets apart.

Martin scored twice and Zaha, named in the England U21 squad today, once while Ambrose and Easter both claimed two assists.

“We are a good team right now that’s playing well,” said Freedman.

“Chris Martin is one that is benefiting from that and right now his partnership with Jermaine Easter in font of him is flourishing.

“Jermaine was fantastic on Saturday, he has not got the goals but he is looking at what’s around him.

“A lot of credit has to go to him and he was potentially my man of the match.

“As a manager, I have to look at the all round contribution and he was fantastic, as was the whole team.

“We have a great combination at the moment.

“Darren Ambrose’s free kicks were fantastic and his work rate and ethos of late has really added a lot to the team over all and he practices his set pieces every day.

“And Wilfried Zaha is playing fantastically well at the moment.”
