Brentford boss Uwe Rosler has warned his men they get no prizes for being sixth in League One at Christmas.
The Bees were held to a 1-1 draw at Bury on Saturday after Gary Alexander had given his side the lead from the penalty spot – taking their unbeaten away run to nine league games.
Defender Karleigh Osbourne and striker Harry Forrester returned to training this week – after lengthy injury lay-offs – to give the squad a boost ahead of visits from AFC Bournemouth and MK Dons on Boxing Day and New Year’s Eve respectively.
Rosler expects to strengthen his hand when the transfer window opens and has urged his men to make the first half of the campaign count.
“What makes me believe we can go a long way in this league is the consistency we have shown,” he said.
“We’ve coped well with injuries and we have only dropped out of the top 10 once and that was only for a weekend.
“There is room for improvement. We want to win more games at home and we will be looking to add one or two new faces to the squad in January to give us another push.
“The prizes are given out in May and we must build on the first half of the season.”
