Bees boss Andy Scott will look to extend free agent Izale MacLeod’s trial spell with the club, ready for Crystal Palace on Friday after the former MK Don impressed in a 4-0 win over Woking.
The 25-year-old former England U21 international, signed by Charlton Athletic in 2007 for £1.1million, played nearly an hour in Tuesday’s romp past the Blue Square South Cards.
Veteran forward Nicky Forster opened the scoring - his first for the club since his return - before a brace from Myles Weston and one from full-back Mickey Spillane completed the rout.
Brentford have struggled to find the net this summer, but Scott believes his side is shaping up nicely.
“We are a good side when we look to play foward and play the way we want,” he said.
“We could have scored a hell of a lot more goals.
“We haven’t scored many in pre-season, but we haven’t worked on going forward - we have worked defensively and that looked good.
“We still have two weeks to go and are still moving forward.”
