Brentfordboss Mark Warburton labelled keeper David Button the best keeper in the Championship after preserving three points for his side at Norwich City.

A calm Jota finish and an Alex Pritchard penalty secured a 2-1 win at the Canaries, but it was Button who claimed the plaudits with a man of the match display.

The 25-year-old saved from Cameron Jerome and ex-Bee Lewis Grabban after Pritchard had put Warburton's men in front with his 71st minute penalty awarded when Andre Gray was felled in the box.

Button, who has improved in leaps and bounds since last term, pulled off a similar trick in the dying moments of a 1-0 win over Rotherham United ealier this month.

And the goalkeeper's contribution has not been lost on his manager

"In my opinion David Button is the best keeper in the league," said Warburton.

"He went out on loan a number of times earlier in his career and had a number two mentality.

"But now he works hard every single day and it shows.

"His distribution, shot stopping and dominance of his area are all excellent. The two saves at the end were first class."

Everton loanee Chris Long came off the bench to make his debut after signing a month-long deal last week.

And Warburton, who hinted the England U20 international may be at Griffin Park a little longer than first planned, was impressed with the 19-year-old's five minute cameo.

"Chris has come through Everton's academy system, which is first class," he added.

"He brings quality, an eye for goal. We've watched him from a young age. I first saw him when he was 12 or 13 years old.

"These type of loans develop this kind of talent. We have to make sure we use them correctly.

"He came on with no fear. He could have taken the ball into the corner, but he drove for goal and nearly contributed to a third goal with that cross at the end.

"I'm delighted for Long and, hopefully, he'll play a big part in the rest of the season for us."
