Crystal Palace target Eddie Howe could chose south London rivals Charlton Athletic over the Eagles.

The Bournemouth boss is believed to have held talks with the Addicks yesterday even though he has been offered the manager's job at Selhurst Park.

Howe, 33, is highly sought after but may still chose to stay at Bournemouth and is due to have a meeting with the Cherries' chairman this afternoon.

Howe took charge of his 99th game as Bournemouth manager on Saturday and saw his side move up to second in the League One table following a 3-0 win over Plymouth Argyle.

Afterwards, an emotional Howe told the press he had a difficult decision to make over his future.

He said: "I have a very, very difficult decision to make.

“This club, the supporters, the players, mean so much to me and I have got a decision to make over the next few days.

“It is one I know I have to make and it is not going to be easy.

“I want to be honest with people because I think they need to know.

“I have got to battle with myself and come to a decision which is right for everybody."

Howe is expected to make his decision within the next 24 hours following his meeting with the Bournemouth chairman.
