Luke Moore dug the knife into his former employers as Wimbledon at last got back to winning ways.

The livewire was in irresistible form as Terry Brown’s team put a fraught last five weeks behind them.

Moore netted twice with Danny Kedwell – scoring his first goal since September’s home thrashing of Histon – also on target.

Ebbsfleet look every inch a team doomed to the drop and were as good as beaten as soon as they fell behind just before half-time.

Wimbledon manager Brown, who hinted at transfer actively within the next 48 hours, says he feels for counterpart Liam Daish after an eighth game without a goal.

But the Kingsmeadow boss was delighted to register a first victory since the October 10 romp at Forest Green.

He said: “The manner in which we got back to winning ways pleased me the most I think.

“We needed a win tonight. We got the ball down and played some football – it was the right attitude.

“We rested Moore on Saturday against York and perhaps I should drop him more often!

“He hadn’t been doing that well and he needed a kick. He wants to go professional (in the Football League) and I told him to do that he needs to score 15-20 goals every season. If he manages that, he might get picked up.

“Keds’ goal was a smashing strike as well. He needed to get back on the scoresheet and he did that. It effectively won us the game making it 2-0.

“Overall I was really, really pleased with our performance. Had one of their shots gone in with that wind it all of a sudden becomes a struggle.

“But we didn’t struggle. We kept playing our football and at the other end kept a clean sheet. We needed this result.”

Wimbledon went ahead three minutes before half-time when Moore tidied up when the loose ball found the forwards’ feet ten yards out. He stoked his shot into Lance Cronin’s bottom corner after a frustrating first half to relieve the pressure.

Stefan Bailey wasted Fleet’s best chance, gliding through the home defence after the interval. Keeper Seb Brown was equal to his low drive and there was no looking back from that point for the hosts.

Kedwell’s rasping half-volley across goal to make it 2-0 owed a lot to Ricky Wellard.

The third was all about Moore and he again found Cronin’s bottom right-hand corner with little over a quarter of an hour to go.
