Neil Warnock has revealed Crystal Palace will not be offering trialist Val Teixeira a permanent deal.

The Portuguese forward has been on trial at the Selhurst Park club from their Crystal Palace USA side but has not impressed enough to be offered terms.

Warnock said: “He’s done well, he’s got something but we don’t feel he’s going to be just quite right for the Championship at the moment.

“He’s actually gone up to Chesterfield and scored a hat trick in their reserves yesterday I think.

“We’ve had a few trialists in but at the moment we’re quite well off for wide players and attacking players. We’re looking elsewhere if we are going to bring people in.”

With the window now open for clubs to sign players on loan, Warnock believes many will wait until October 1 to make their move.

He said: “You can do three months then to the January transfer window.

“I think people will be looking around now at what there is, like we got Clint Hill last year in that period, and I would think there would be one or two movements in and out in that period.”
