Brentford head coach Marinus Dijkhuizen has solved his shortage of strikers with the signing of Danish international Lasse Vibe.

The 28-year-old put pen to paper on a three-year deal from IFK Goteborg for an undisclosed fee – subject to international clearance and a medical.

Vibe, who scored 29 goals in the 2014 Swedish season, is making the move to west London mid-way through Goteborg’s 2015 season and so arrives ready to play.

It means he is likely to go straight into the side that faces Stoke City at Griffin Park tomorrow (Saturday, kick-off 1.30pm) ahead of the new Championship season.

Dijkhuizen said: “"I am very happy that we have been able to sign two attackers. We were short of numbers in that position.

Brentford new boy Hofmann gives Bees more attacking options

"Lasse Vibe brings a lot of experience to our young squad. He can play in all positions in the front line and scored a lot of goals last season.

"I'm excited by the possibility to work with Lasse in training and look forward to seeing him in our team in the coming season."

The Bees’ co-director of football, Phil Giles, added: "Lasse has been playing regularly throughout the Swedish league season and therefore arrives ready for the new season.

"He will train with the first team squad today, and be available to play tomorrow against Stoke. We welcome Lasse to Brentford and look forward to seeing him play."
