Crystal Palace were struck with yet another injury as they played out an even 1-1 draw with West Ham at the London Stadium in midweek.

Striker Christian Benteke and Hammers skipper Mark Noble would score for each side before Bakary Sako would go down and be replaced by Yohan Cabaye.

There were chances for both sides but the second half became subdued as both teams played out a 1-1 draw.

Here is how News Shopper rated Crystal Palace’s players…

Wayne Hennessey – 7 – Relatively quiet first 45 mins. Great save early at close-range in the second, but the first 45 mins continued on to the second. Made standard, but crucial, saves.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah – 6 – Great block on Cresswell after a threatening Kouyate cross in a good first half. Played himself into trouble and fouled deep in the second.

Martin Kelly – 6 – Made good tackles and interceptions, defended well. Didn’t find himself in too much trouble when Hernández and Kouyaté roamed into the box.

James Tomkins – 6 – Mixed. Made a brilliant last-ditch block against Chicharito but also gave away a penalty. Got booked. Appeared to recover well after the break.

Patrick van Aanholt – 6 – Solid tackle on Chicharito inside the box when West Ham looked dangerous. Rarely looked flustered and produced somewhat at both ends.

Andros Townsend – 7 – Great run and assist for the opening goal. Made an importance clearance in the first half. Second only to Zaha in Palace’s best attacking threat.

Luka Milivojevic – 6 – Almost scored a great volley near the end of the first half. Played reasonably well with Cabaye and McArthur in the second. Went down very late in injury time – nothing serious.

James McArthur – 6 – Decent first half, looked assured in his awareness and distribution. Nearly scored in first half injury time with a header.

Bakary Sako – 5 – Made some good runs at the West Ham defence and put them on the back foot, but suffered a match-ending injury. Replaced by Yohan Cabaye while being vociferously booed.

Christian Benteke – 7 – Great header for the opening goal and had a good partnership with Zaha until Sako went off. Looked stifled against the three centre backs.

Wilfried Zaha – 6 – Won some fouls in good areas but was subdued and outnumbered by West Ham’s defence. Also lost some influence with Sako’s injury.
