Besiktas have slapped an £88m price tag on star man Cenk Tosun.
Tosun, who has been attracting interest from Crystal Palace and Newcastle, is the club’s top scorer with 10 goals this season.
The Eagles were close to landing the Turkey striker on transfer deadline day, but negotiations broke down.
And Besiktas vice-president Deniz Atalay has made it almost impossible for Palace to sign Tosun next month with his recent comments.
He said: “If you ask me Cenk is worth €100m [£88m], he has a very bright future.
“He is starting to reap the fruits from the seeds we sewed.”
Palace will try to bring in a striker in the January transfer window – Christian Benteke is the only fit number nine at the club.
