Chelsea have reignited their interest in Crystal Palace star Christian Benteke.
Benteke, who just returned to training following a serious knee injury, scored 17 goals to help secure the Eagles’ top-flight status last season.
It led to reports that Premier League champions Chelsea wanted to sign the Belgium striker in the summer.
Despite the £60m arrival of Alvaro Morata, Blues boss Antonio Conte looked at Fernando Llorente, who later joined Tottenham, and Benteke as back-ups.
The Mirror says that Chelsea will bid for Benteke in January, with the Italian coach not convinced by second-choice striker Michy Batshuayi.
And Benteke, who joined Palace in a £30m deal from Liverpool last year, could be tempted to swap a relegation battle for a title race.
