Manchester United youngster Timothy Fosu-Mensah took part in Crystal Palace training on Wednesday, with an announcement confirming his loan signing expected soon.

The Eagles have signed the versatile defender on a season-long loan from the Red Devils. He will be able to play across the Palace’s defence or in central midfield.

Fosu-Mensah, 19, worked with Palace manager Frank de Boer at Ajax, before arriving at United in 2014.

He is highly-rated by Old Trafford chiefs, but is behind Antonio Valencia and Matteo Darmian in the pecking order.

The Dutchman made just 11 appearances last season, many of those coming from the bench.

Fosu-Mensah will get some much-needed game-time at Selhurst Park, and is likely to be deployed in the right-wing-back position.
