Liverpool have told Crystal Palace that they will not loan out Mamadou Sakho again.
A permanent deal is going to be the only way to bring the France defender back to Selhurst Park this summer.
And the Eagles must cough up £30m to land their top transfer target.
Sakho starred for Palace during a six-month loan spell last season, keeping four clean sheets in his eight games.
Palace boss Frank de Boer has already signed highly-rated defender Jairo Riedewald from Ajax, but wants more centre-backs to play in his preferred 3-4-3 formation.

And adding Sakho to an impressive-looking back-line would be a real statement of intent.
The Mirror reports that the former Paris Saint-Germain man is keen to link up with De Boer.
But the Dutchman believes paying £30m for one of Liverpool’s fringe players, who hasn't featured for Jurgen Klopp’s side since the 2015/16 campaign, is too much money.
