Surrey wicketkeeper Jon Batty has not given up hope of an England call this summer despite Tim Ambrose's impressive winter performances in New Zealand.
Clapham-based Batty, 34, has started the season opening the Surrey batting alongside Banstead's Scott Newman and took three stumpings in last week's rain-affected draw with Durham.
Although Batty has yet to win an England call-up during his 14-year first-class career, he has refused to call time on aspirations to make it at the top level.

"I still say the England keeping job is not guaranteed for Tim Ambrose even though he did have a fantastic tour in the winter," said Batty,
"I am looking to keep knocking on the door - maybe hammering it down - to put myself in the frame if the opportunity arises."
