Clapham-based Surrey wicketekeeper Jonathan Batty reckons he still has plenty to give to the game after signing an extension to his contract to keep him at the Brit Oval until the end of 2010.
The 34-year-old, first choice keeper at the club since 2004, kicks-off his 13th season with the Brown Caps - and benefit year - later this month with 10,758 runs and 759 dismissals in all competitions under his belt.
Surrey suffered relegation form the Liverpool Victoria County Championship Division One last season and are set to blood the next generation of stars in Division Two this year.
Cricket manager Chris Adams rates Batty as a valuable asset in the bid to return to the top flight, and the long serving gloveman remains keen to help the club return to its former glories.
“I still believe I’ve got an awful lot of cricket left in me and have a huge amount of desire to help turn the fortunes of the Club around over the coming years,” he added.
