Former Hampton School student Zafar Ansari has penned an extended two-year contract with Surrey County Cricket Club.

The 19-year-old, who will remain at the Kia Oval until 2014, impressed in all forms of the game last season as the Lions lifted the Clydesdale Bank 40 trophy and won promotion back to the LV= County Championship Division One.

Ansari, who is in the middle of his second year at Cambridge University, said: “Going into last season, my goal was to secure my future for the next few years and that it is what I managed to do.”
