Bees fans will be reunited with Sergi Canos next term - but only when he returns to Griffin Park with new club Norwich City.

The 19-year-old signed a four year deal with the Canaries this week after a rejecting the offer of a new contract at Liverpool to switch to Carrow Road.

The Spanish youth international made 39 appearances and scored seven goals for Brentford last term on loan and Bees head coach Dean Smith had hoped to persuade the youngster his future lay in west London on a permanent basis.

But the former Barcelona trainee has opted for pastures completely new and instead will next visit Griffin Park in December.

"From the beginning, Norwich showed very good interest and showed that they believe in me," he said.

"I’m very excited to be here. Carrow Road impressed me, I’ve seen videos of it and it looks an amazing atmosphere and I can’t wait to play there."

City manager Alex Neil added: "Sergi has a good background having been at Barcelona before moving to Liverpool at a young age.

"At Brentford last year he did really well. With Nathan Redmond leaving we wanted to replace him with someone exciting; someone who can dribble, can score goals and can provide assists.

"Hopefully Sergi can show everybody how good he can be."
