Former Dons star Steven Gregory played an important part in Warren Cummings’ move to League Two AFC Wimbledon last week.

Left-back Cummings played alongside Gregory at AFC Bournemouth and admitted his former team-mate’s advice made up his mind.

“Steven could not speak highly enough of the club. He really enjoyed his time here,” said the 31-year-old.

“He filled me in about the players, the management, and the way things worked at Wimbledon.

“It was great to hear that positive feedback from him.

“I am sure the club will go from strength to strength and I am looking forward to being a part of it. The management are ambitious and with a bit of luck, then hopefully we can get into the play-offs.”

Boss Terry Brown added: “He has over 300 league games under his belt and that experience is what we want.”
