Former Dons manager Terry Brown has been recalling the proudest moment of his time at Kingsmeadow.

The popular boss has overseen three promotions in his five-year tenure and it will come as no surprise which promotion ranks as the best.

When Brown recalls winning promotion to the Football League after a dramatic play-off final penalty shoot out against Luton Town, it brings a lump to his throat.

Brown said: "I know that without the win over Staines and promotion out of the Ryman Premier League none of this would have happened.

"But the realisation of standing in the City of Manchester Stadium after beating Luton and thinking we’ve done this was immense.

"I know that I shall never achieve such momentous success again. It was a magnificent game and I will be forever proud to be associated with that moment in time."

He added: "No matter how many managers Wimbledon have from now on, Stuart and I were the lucky ones who were able to enjoy the occasion and take Wimbledon up."
