Brixton's Danny Williams travels to PaĆs Vasco, near Bilboa, Spain tomorrow evening (Friday) to face Kazakhstan's Konstantin Airich.
Victory for the 34-year-old British heavyweight champion could edge him closer to a European or world title shot.
Williams scored a six-round points victory over Marcus McGhee in Tampa seven weeks ago, but Airich, 29, the German interim champion, will provide a sterner test.
Seven weeks ago in Tampa, Florida USA, Williams scored a resounding six round points victory over Marcus McGee but tomorrow bout will provide the South Londoner a much sterner test.
Airich, 29, the current German interim champion, is unbeaten in 10 bouts and last time out he outpointed Ukraine's Andriy Oleinyk over eight rounds.
Williams will in action again on July 4 when he defends his British title against Horden's John McDermott at Goresbrook Leisure Centre, Dagenham.
