AFC Wimbledon boss Terry Brown hopes to bring in at least one new striker to the club before Saturday's FA Trophy tie against Hendon.

Brown has been critical of his strikeforce's inability to convert chances and Tuesday's heartbreaking penalty shoot-out defeat to Horsham in the FA Cup third qualifying round replay, in which his side looked completely ineffective in front of goal, seems to be the final straw.

The Dons boss has tried just about everything he can to solve his goal conundrum.

He drafted in prolific non-league goalscorer Guiliano Grazioli from League Two side Barnet - but the loanee failed to score a single goal during his month-long stay at Kingsmeadow.

Former Chelsea and Germany U20 international Seb Kneissl has signed for the club - but he has hardly featured.

And to top it all off for the Dons boss Richard Jolly, Daniel Webb and Marcus Gayle are all nursing injuries.

But Brown has revealed he is negotiations with three unnamed attacking players - and hopes to have at least one of them on board before Saturday's clash against Hendon.

"We are in desperate need of two or three new faces and I'm hoping we can have some joy before Saturday, said Brown.

"When you've got contract players it's difficult because they don't want to leave this club - but we have identified players and we need to bring those players in.

"We are in negotiations with an attacking midfielder and a couple of strikers."

I'm sorry but as much as I've loved Richard Butler ever since his debut he is not going to win us the league no matter how much he runs his socks off. The fans need to lay off Webb and see what he does with a decent strike partner and decent service.
