The first-team future of young Surrey paceman Neil Saker has been thrown into doubt following confirmation the club has added West Indian fast bowler Pedro Collins to its ranks.

Collins, 31, who arrives on a two-year deal as a Kolpak player, has 106 wickets to his name in 32 Test appearances and was part of the West Indies squad involved at the recent ICC World Twenty20 tournament.

The emergence of teenager Chris Jordan last season has already put Saker in the shade and Surrey team manager Alan Butcher insists Collins will add variety to his attack.

"Mark Butcher thinks he was the West Indies' best bowler on England's last tour," he said.
