An Aviva Premiership rugby club is offering free tickets to any member of the emergency services for a London double header at Twickenham Stadium.

Saracens are teaming up with the Metropolitan Police, the London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade to offer their full and part-time workers the chance to attend the matches completely free of charge.

Each member of staff can claim up to eight tickets, inviting friends and family to the day out.

It forms part of the London double header that includes Saracens’ clash with Northampton Saints, also at Twickenham Stadium.

The north London club will face Northampton Saints at 2pm that day with Harlequins taking on the London Irish later that day at 4.45pm on September 2.

Heath Harvey, Sarcens’ CEO, said: “We would like to illustrate our gratitude and thanks for the wonderful work our emergency services do on a daily basis in this great city by offering free entry to one of the biggest days in the domestic rugby club calendar.

“We recognise the work that they do and hope that, in a small way, we can help highlight just how much we, as a club and a city, appreciate them.”

Ken Marsh, chairman of the Metropolitan Police Federation, said: “Our thanks go to Saracens RFC for this generous offer, and we have no doubt it will be a brilliant day for all involved.”

The offer will be initially limited to 10,000 tickets but Premiership Rugby and Saracens will continually review the offer to satisfy the maximum number of people.

The tickets will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis.

A dedicated URL link will be communicated to personnel through service channels and tickets can be claimed through the link.
