Toumani Diagouraga might have passed a major personal milestone at Brentford on Saturday, but performing his job is all that matters.

The 28-year-old Frenchman made his 200th league appearance for the Bees in Saturday's dramatic 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest that called time on head coach Lee Carsley's spell at the helm in style.

Diagouraga originally signed for the club on loan from Peterborough United in January 2010 before making the move permanent that summer.

A spell on loan at Portsmouth in 2014 made it seem he was on his way out of Griffin Park, but he bounced back to star for the Bees under Mark Warburton last term.

He has been in good form this term as Carsley turned the club's fortunes around and Diagouraga seems happy to be a Bee for as long as he has a smile on his face.

"I'll enjoy it now and when I retire. It is good for now, but I need to keep focused on the job ahead," he said.

"When I first signed on loan I didn't expect to be here five or six years, but I keep enjoying it so it is good.

"It is a long time to have been at one club. I've been enjoying myself here and the club keeps giving me new contracts.

"I have a good relationship with the club and I have just been staying here."
