The mother of a 13-year- old Engligh gymnast champion has spoken of her pride of her daughter’s achievements.

Larna Martin was over the moon when daughter Hannah won gold in every event she competed in at the 2015 English Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships earlier this year.

As if that was not enough, her score in the competition would have won a silver medal in a senior competition.

Larna said: “It’s amazing to see her competing and to see how far she has come.

“Her heart and goal are the Commonwealth Games in 2018, as she is too young for the Olympics yet.”

Hannah is sponsored by Sports Aid, who this year have given her £1,000 towards her costs of training and travelling.

Larna said: “They have given her a lump sum, but when you consider her costs have been £4,000 recently, it’s still quite expensive.

Tooting Gymnastics Club, where Hannah started out give her £50 a month.

“We have started a website to try and gain more sponsorship.”

Hannah made her first appearance competing for Great Britain at the Aphrodite Cup in March, where she came fifth in her age group and got to two finals.
